Reiki is a gentle and noninvasive energy healing for supporting the overall wellness for our pets. Reiki can create relaxation and calm in even the most stressed-out cases. It can help speed up healing after surgery or illness, along with reduce the side effects of medicine and other treatments, relieve pain, improve behavior issues, heal anxiety and promote self-healing and balance. My approach is done with love and honor for the animal; it is done with the animal and not to the animal. I always ask permission of the animal before beginning, and I respect his or her decision to accept or reject any treatment. Through listening intuitively and observing their body language, I can determine their response to the treatment. During treatments, I simply connect with the energy and hold a “healing space” for the animal, while focusing on a feeling of tranquility and state of relaxation. I work on the ebb and flow method allowing the animal to guide and take the lead, allowing them to remain in control of acceptance and how much energy they are willing to receive. Unless the animal submits, I typically encourage a hands-off approach; this allows for the animal to “escape” if they are not interested or have received their “fill”. However, there is no “one-size-fits-all” treatment. I believe that animals are and should be equal partners in their healing process and I have dedicated myself to the “virtues of humility, integrity, compassion and gratitude” in my Reiki practice. Our animal family members benefit greatly from this healing energy, whether from a distance, meditatively, or actively through physical contact. I typically recommend not removing your pet from their natural, safe environment of home. Sessions can be completed distantly or I will travel to your location for an additional fee.
